Vacuum Instrument Corp. to Distribute
Multigas Leak Detector
Ronkonkoma, N.Y., August 7—Vacuum
Instrument Corp., a world-leading manufacturer in the leak
detection industry, today announced its plan to distribute a
new series of multi-gas leak detectors, the Decotel 20
manufactured by Telstar Industrial, S.L. Terrassa, Spain.
“The Decotel is an excellent
complement to our leak detection product line,” said
Chuck Wilkinson, Director of Sales, Industrial Leak Detection
division. “Its unique capabilities rounds-out our
product offerings and ensures one-stop shopping for all our
customer’s leak detection equipment
requirements.”
The Decotel 20 is a precise and
innovative refrigerant gas leak detector, which uses mass
spectrometer technology to detect leaks in pressurized/charged
refrigeration systems.
The Decotel 20 has been specifically
designed for fast, accurate and selective pinpointing of
refrigerant and other gas species in industrial applications,
such as: refrigeration industry, residential, commercial and
industrial, air-conditioning industry, SF6 charged components
and gas bottles, cigarette lighters, etc.
Reliability of the test is optimized
thanks to the high selectivity, short response time, automatic
gas selection of up to 4 different gases, sniffer probe clogged
alarm and audio and visual indication of a leak.
The Decotel 20 utilizes a sniffer probe
with a 5m long flexible tube; the 200mm long sniffer probe tip
can be bent; the tip head is made of metal and contains a
sintered filter; the handle is fitted with a multi-color
LED/Pushbutton.
About Vacuum Instrument Corporation
and VIC Leak Detection
Vacuum Instrument Corporation (VIC) is
the world's largest company devoted solely to research and
design, manufacture, distribution, training and service of leak
detectors and complete leak detector solutions. Founded
in 1958 as Vacuum Instrument Corporation, VIC introduced the
first portable helium leak detector in 1967, went on to develop
the first fully automatic industrial leak detection system in
1978, and the first “sniff only” helium leak
detector in 1990. In 1994 VIC was selected by the
National Center for Manufacturing Sciences (NCMS) to join a
consortium of leading research laboratories and Fortune 50
companies to develop the next generation of leak detection
technology. In 2000, Vacuum Instrument Corporation
acquired the Leak Detection Division of Veeco Instruments Inc.
(Plainview, NY). This division was reorganized as the
Advanced Leak Metrology Division. VIC’s Industrial Leak
Detection, Air Leak Testing, and Advanced Leak Metrology
Divisions combine their engineering, manufacturing, and
marketing resources as VIC Leak Detection.
VIC has the world's largest base of
installed leak detectors. More than one billion products
have been tested with VIC’s portable vacuum-type helium
sniffers, general purpose helium leak detectors, mass flow and
pressure decay systems, and complete turnkey leak detection
solutions. VIC employs more than 120 people at its
corporate headquarters and manufacturing facilities, located in
Ronkonkoma, NY and Dayton, OH.
Factory direct sales and service are
available worldwide.
